The audience thought a goal was coming when Per Gross got free with Samuel Evarado in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 10 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Samuel Evarado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Per Gross. With a little luck, Hermosillo FC's Samuel Evarado got control of the ball when Per Gross tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's Yu Jing sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dale Kool narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Albirex Niigata FC's goal looked a bit too open when Yu Jing came free, but Dale Kool reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 minutes of play, Albirex Niigata FC's Mohammad Lee made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samuel Evarado was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 30 minutes, Farhan Lee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Albirex Niigata FC and the Hermosillo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Samuel Evarado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mujahid Vijiaratnam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dale Kool didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yu Jing went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Dale Kool showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Frutos in the 45th minute of the match. After 47 minutes Albirex Niigata FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Feliksas Čepulionis who took care of the corner kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sharizan Chee was the one to do the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Per Gross came free, but Samuel Evarado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Yu Jing kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dale Kool. That made the score 1-2 in the 64 minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Yu Jing dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dale Kool, 1-3. Hermosillo FC made a substitution. Jonatan Fraco replaced Alejandro Lope. Sharizan Chee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Evarado having to interfere. Ali Choy made in the 76th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Mujahid Vijiaratnam however managed to control. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 77th minute of the game. One of Albirex Niigata FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hermosillo FC:s goal. Albirex Niigata FC:s Dale Kool showed great skill when he stopped Feliksas Čepulionis:s penalty. Dale Kool was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Twan Sans showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 80 minute of play. In the 83rd minute, 何伟彬 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute of the match Hermosillo FC got a corner. Albirex Niigata FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Feliksas Čepulionis ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Feliksas Čepulionis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Albirex Niigata FC's Dale Kool did a great save. 97 minutes into the match, Hermosillo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sharizan Chee came free, but Samuel Evarado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hermosillo FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
