Ivón Echavarri got a throw-in 6 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Seilenos Chrysanthopoulos. Lars Gudmundsson hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 邵城沙 kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Reinard Van Ghele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivón Echavarri in the 16th minute of the match. Reinard Van Ghele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivón Echavarri in the 20th minute of play. Reinard Van Ghele didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivón Echavarri went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 23 minutes of play, OMONOIA's 邵城沙 made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reinard Van Ghele was left in no man's land by his defense there! 27 minutes into the match, OMONOIA's goalkeeper Koios Panayiotopoulos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Murray Hägert. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivón Echavarri in the 30th minute of play forced Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goalkeeper Reinard Van Ghele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Ivón Echavarri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinard Van Ghele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, OMONOIA's Honorio Vergas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reinard Van Ghele made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Koios Panayiotopoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murray Hägert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th match minute, OMONOIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chico de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Murray Hägert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Koios Panayiotopoulos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, 邵城沙 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reinard Van Ghele was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Reinard Van Ghele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 邵城沙, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

The wind increased when Honorio Vergas made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute of the match, Honorio Vergas tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Reinard Van Ghele saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Leon Imberechts took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Koios Panayiotopoulos. Koios Panayiotopoulos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Imberechts in the 61st minute of play forced OMONOIA's goalkeeper Koios Panayiotopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute Honorio Vergas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinard Van Ghele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th match minute, Royal Antwerp F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Gudmundsson to maneuver through the defense. Reinard Van Ghele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Vergas in the 68th minute of play. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Reinard Van Ghele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Vergas in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Imberechts in the 72nd minute of play forced OMONOIA's goalkeeper Koios Panayiotopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorio Vergas in the 73rd minute of play forced Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goalkeeper Reinard Van Ghele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Honorio Vergas took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Reinard Van Ghele to make any attempt to save it. Chico de Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Reinard Van Ghele made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Matias Araújo sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matias Araújo got free with Reinard Van Ghele in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With 91 minutes on the clock, George Huijghens commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Royal Antwerp F.C.! The score was 1-6 after a penalty in the 94th minute, where OMONOIA:s Honorio Vergas tricked Royal Antwerp F.C.:s Reinard Van Ghele with a difficult ball by the left post. The OMONOIA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing OMONOIA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
