The FC XY fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when FC XY's Orhan Veli Mirac looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC XY fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! Gençlerbirliği's Dursun Ekinci proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Gençlerbirliği from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Orhan Veli Mirac put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dursun Ekinci. After having played for 38 minutes, Orhan Veli Mirac managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC XY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orhan Veli Mirac was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orhan Veli Mirac in the 43rd minute of play forced Gençlerbirliği's goalkeeper Dursun Ekinci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dursun Ekinci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orhan Veli Mirac in the 44th minute of play. FC XY's Daniel Pavlovič was substituted for Ján Krempašský.
