After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Denis Stanislao managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sacronas Futbol Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Denis Stanislao was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelinho Quadros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sacronas Futbol Club's Denis Stanislao got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benjamin Brereton's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Santos Sidro firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Waldir Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelinho Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Stanislao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Denis Stanislao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 16th minute Denis Stanislao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Sacronas Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Fernandez came free, but Santos Sidro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valdomiro Sabóia made in the 19th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Dedé Salles immediately put the ball in play. After 20 played minutes A. A. SAQUAREMA got a freekick which was hit by Valdomiro Sabóia. In the 21st minute, Denis Stanislao ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelinho Quadros was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Stanislao in the 29th minute of play forced A. A. SAQUAREMA's goalkeeper Marcelinho Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelinho Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Stanislao in the 29th minute of the match. SAQUAREMA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelinho Quadros should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denis Stanislao in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelinho Quadros saved A. A. SAQUAREMA from getting behind. Denis Stanislao received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Marcelinho Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 minutes, Benicio Baristo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sacronas Futbol Club and the A. A. SAQUAREMA players grew even worse after the yellow card. A. A. SAQUAREMA made a substitution. Flavinho Queirós replaced André Simões. After the first half Sacronas Futbol Club were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benjamin Brereton to make the kick off. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Santos Sidro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Waldir Fernandez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santos Sidro was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In the 94th minute, Waldir Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Denis Stanislao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 96th minute, Leonel Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sacronas Futbol Club's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
