In the 13th match minute, Young Benefica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiaguinho de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Mitchel Dijkstra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steffen Gimlinge's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute Club Universidad Nacional were awarded a corner. Angel Morales went to the cornerflag to take it. Wladimir Herrera made a great header on Club Universidad Nacional's corner, it was just that Young Benefica's Mitchel Dijkstra managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 41st minute, Steffen Gimlinge reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mitchel Dijkstra. The goal made the score 5-0. 44 minutes into the match, Young Benefica's goal looked a bit too open when Steffen Gimlinge came free, but Mitchel Dijkstra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Steffen Gimlinge stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Club Universidad Nacional booed when Young Benefica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 95th minute, Feliciano Frans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Universidad Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. When the referee ended the match the Club Universidad Nacional players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
