An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Newman in the 35th minute of play forced KV Schoonwater's goalkeeper Henk Jonckers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute of the match De Ontembare Leeuwen got a corner. KV Schoonwater's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Raymond Heersprink ran over to the corner to take the kick. At last the ball reached Kevin Newman at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of KV Schoonwater. 1-1. Heiko Som showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alek De Hondt, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pino Van Hinnendaels to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, De Ontembare Leeuwen's goal looked a bit too open when Alek De Hondt came free, but Heiko Som reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacco Hoving could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Henk Jonckers made a huge save. In the 76th minute of the match, Kevin Newman tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Henk Jonckers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
