With a little luck, AC Milan's Sixten Apelqvist got control of the ball when Marcelino Tabor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kurt Rolandsson kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martin Budín was the one to do the kick off.
