The audience was convinced that George Schiau's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante De Smet was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. The supporters of Dutch Rebels booed when New York Red Bulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Schiau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lauren Seveneijnts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Basarab Panduru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New York Red Bulls fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. If Berkan Temel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. New York Red Bulls's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
