A nice corner shot did that Casimiro Santana got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Karol Kluczyk quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to La Mazorca getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Rosendo Cresenciano hit a great ball. In the 45th minute Martín Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karol Kluczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Martín Palermo made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Ambrosio Leguizamón hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martín Palermo in the 52nd minute of play forced La Mazorca's goalkeeper Karol Kluczyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Octavio Chale heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martín Palermo in the 78th minute of play forced La Mazorca's goalkeeper Karol Kluczyk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Ascacibar-Pérez's Karol Kluczyk threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Martín Palermo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 82 minutes into the match, La Mazorca's goalkeeper Karol Kluczyk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martín Palermo. Rosendo Cresenciano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martín Palermo came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Karol Kluczyk could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martín Palermo got free with Karol Kluczyk in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, La Mazorca's Rosendo Cresenciano got a free kick in the 95th minute. La Mazorca succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ascacibar-Pérez had controlled the match.
