Percival Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson Couto in the 18th minute of play. When Túlio Brasil fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's protests and gave Túlio Brasil a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 played minutes Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Brasil. After 22 played minutes, Catugi FC's Vicente Valladares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Percival Munhoz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Catugi FC reached it. Percival Munhoz made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Walmir Pombal sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. José Pedro Vides hit a great ball. With a little luck, Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's Percival Munhoz got control of the ball when Walmir Pombal tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 39th minute, Catugi FC's Walmir Pombal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Percival Munhoz. Percival Munhoz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. In the 42nd minute Carlos Alberto Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percival Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Catugi FC were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vicente Valladares took the corner. Walmir Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute of the match Cauã Passos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reko Nybacka showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Alberto Soares to strike the kick off in the second half. Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's Percival Munhoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Pombal in the 55th minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Percival Munhoz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Percival Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Soares in the 67th minute of play. Pedro Augusto Gerber was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 73 minutes into the match.
