Pepe Santoro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafín Berganza in the 9th minute of play forced Ogro F.C.'s goalkeeper Alysson Rezende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pepe Santoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerônimo Vergílio in the 10th minute of the match. The corner led Ogro F.C.'s Jerônimo Vergílio to fire away a dangerous shot which Pepe Santoro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Cavalera in the 14th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Pepe Santoro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ogro F.C.'s Igor Cavalera in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 32nd minute Igor Cavalera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepe Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Ogro F.C.'s Jerônimo Vergílio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pepe Santoro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ogro F.C.'s Alysson Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sören Bengtsson in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute of the match Ogro F.C. got a corner. Independiente's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jerônimo Vergílio ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alex Van Halen scored 0-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pepe Santoro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alysson Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sören Bengtsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Reynaldo Abadia got a free kick in the 41st minute. The Independiente players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ogro F.C. were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Isidoro Beltran to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Adelino Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Igor Cavalera took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pepe Santoro. Pepe Santoro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Alysson Rezende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sören Bengtsson in the 57th minute of the match. Alysson Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Beltran, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Isidoro Beltran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alysson Rezende. Ogro F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isidoro Beltran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Ogro F.C. made a substitution. Nicko McBrain replaced Alex Van Halen. Pepe Santoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Zimmermann in the 74th minute of the match. Pepe Santoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dan Zimmermann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute Dan Zimmermann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pepe Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicko McBrain could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Pepe Santoro made a huge save. Pepe Santoro was a little too slow when Nicko McBrain got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-4. Independiente's Ximenes Castilla was substituted for Serafín Berganza. A hard shot 93 in the game by Nicko McBrain from a close distance when the talented Pepe Santoro managed to make a qualified save. Independiente's players were relieved. 95 minutes into the match, Isidoro Beltran notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Ogro F.C.'s Alysson Rezende. Alysson Rezende was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
