After a rather tough play, Olympique Fribourg's Raik Topuz got a free kick in the 8th minute. Feliciano Rocendo was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 19th minute, Basilio Matxin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Patrick Knechtli. The goal made the score 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Municipales FC's Basilio Matxin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrick Knechtli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Matt Metzger made in the 37th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Téo Savion. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Matt Metzger hit a great ball. Patrick Knechtli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Basilio Matxin's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Municipales FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Baldomero Cisco in the 48th minute. The corner led to Municipales FC's Ceferino Justin getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Basilio Matxin was the one to do the kick off. Patrick Knechtli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Basilio Matxin went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Municipales FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Raik Topuz scored to the left of an out of position Edgardo Joseph, making the score, 3-1. Municipales FC's Sidney Joannes was substituted for Basilio Matxin. Municipales FC's Bernard Juroszek was substituted for Alfonso Cordeara. In the 64th match minute, Olympique Fribourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matt Metzger to maneuver through the defense. Olympique Fribourg made a substitution. After having played for 79 minutes, Raik Topuz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Olympique Fribourg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raik Topuz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sidney Joannes took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrick Knechtli. Patrick Knechtli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. 85 minutes into the match, Sidney Joannes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patrick Knechtli. Olympique Fribourg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sidney Joannes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. In the 89th minute Medero Gadea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgardo Joseph saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidney Joannes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrick Knechtli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Municipales FC's Sidney Joannes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patrick Knechtli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Municipales FC booed when Olympique Fribourg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matt Metzger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidney Joannes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Patrick Knechtli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Municipales FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Olympique Fribourg had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
