Zacarias Ascencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Eleazar, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Benny Niva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Kauã Paranaense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zacarias Ascencio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lou Walker in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Celta de Virgos's Benny Niva ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kauã Paranaense. Kauã Paranaense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Toronto United's Kauã Paranaense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Toronto United from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sergio Sayvion kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Benny Niva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Celta de Virgos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Zacarias Ascencio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Eleazar in the 44th minute of play. A collision led to Toronto United getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Ignác Pucheli hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

In the 51st minute, Leon Brand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kauã Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benny Niva, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Benny Niva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celta de Virgos's Filip Leucuța was substituted for Biagio Pavlu. Celta de Virgos's David Astudillo was substituted for Benny Niva. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Eleazar in the 60th minute of play forced Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kauã Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Astudillo in the 62nd minute of play. Kauã Paranaense came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Celta de Virgos's David Astudillo. But to his dismay, David Astudillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 70th minute David Astudillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauã Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Güngör Yüce hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, Celta de Virgos's David Astudillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kauã Paranaense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 76th minute, Hector Abilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If David Astudillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 79 minutes into the match, Toronto United's goal looked a bit too open when David Astudillo came free, but Kauã Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Astudillo in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kauã Paranaense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Astudillo in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kauã Paranaense saved Toronto United from getting behind. After some careless play in the Toronto United defense, David Astudillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kauã Paranaense. The Toronto United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kauã Paranaense should have stopped the shot. Kauã Paranaense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Astudillo's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. David Astudillo took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kauã Paranaense. Kauã Paranaense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. David Astudillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauã Paranaense having to interfere. Kauã Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Astudillo in the 94th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the game, Celta de Virgos's David Astudillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kauã Paranaense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Celta de Virgos walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
