Daniel Igon came out of the goal and Giannis Polizos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fulgencio Ferrer hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Campeones del Mundo's Daniel Igon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Akakios Trachanas in the 13th minute of play. Clayton Gol's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Igon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Sheriff's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Akakios Trachanas in the 18th minute. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Natalio Dominguez got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Daniel Igon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clayton Gol in the 35th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Damaso Xacintu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Daniel Igon. The goal made the score 3-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clayton Gol got free with Daniel Igon in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 42 minutes Sheriff's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gaston Lucila who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gaston Lucila got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Yahia van der Saar quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
