S O B E R A N O CIMZ's attentive Ruddi Berendsen managed to snatch the ball when Aníbal Lima made a throw-in in the 20th minute of the game. Amerigo Muzi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donzel Goyeneta's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, S O B E R A N O CIMZ's Battal Gazi Bey dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vaggelis Mitsiou in the 25th minute of play forced S O B E R A N O CIMZ's goalkeeper Amerigo Muzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Kevin Carreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Battal Gazi Bey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vaggelis Mitsiou was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in AEK S.C's zone, Battal Gazi Bey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thanasis Koltsidas came out of the goal and Battal Gazi Bey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, S O B E R A N O CIMZ's Klaus Pichler got a free kick in the 55th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Donzel Goyeneta could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Amerigo Muzi however easily saved by the left post. After 58 minutes S O B E R A N O CIMZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vaggelis Mitsiou who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on AEK S.C's corner Rodrigo Hats fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Amerigo Muzi quite easily take care of the ball. Donzel Goyeneta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Amerigo Muzi made a huge save. In the 65th minute Zacharias Siatzis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amerigo Muzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klaus Pichler hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. AEK S.C made a substitution. Thalis Krommidas replaced Vaggelis Mitsiou. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Battal Gazi Bey couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. S O B E R A N O CIMZ had won after a very even match.
