Virgilio Sotil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 11th match minute, PEÑAROL PIPERO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cruz Rabanera to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Alvarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. PEÑAROL PIPERO's Agustín Alvarez pulled a muscle in his back after 15 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 15 minutes, Benê Gonçalves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Villa Mitre and the PEÑAROL PIPERO players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th minute, Benê Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When PEÑAROL PIPERO's Procopio Mayorga in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Villa Mitre's goalie prevented a goal. A nice corner shot did that Martinez Somellero got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Virgilio Sotil quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Virgilio Sotil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Procopio Mayorga, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The supporters of PEÑAROL PIPERO booed when Villa Mitre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Villa Mitre's Benê Gonçalves got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Virgilio Sotil came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by PEÑAROL PIPERO's Cruz Rabanera. But to his dismay, Cruz Rabanera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Virgilio Sotil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Zalayeta in the 41st minute of play. Virgilio Sotil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cruz Rabanera in the 42nd minute of the match. If Procopio Mayorga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cruz Rabanera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgilio Sotil having to interfere. After 47 played minutes Villa Mitre got a freekick which was hit by Blas Seber. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gaspar Mateo made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Villa Mitre's Virgilio Sotil got control of the ball when Procopio Mayorga tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 54thth minute of the game Procopio Mayorga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Villa Mitre's Virgilio Sotil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 57th minute, PEÑAROL PIPERO's Martinez Somellero ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Virgilio Sotil. Virgilio Sotil yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Cruz Rabanera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Virgilio Sotil made a huge save. Virgilio Sotil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Procopio Mayorga went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. PEÑAROL PIPERO made a substitution. Bianco Florio replaced Millrick Portanares. 68 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre's goalkeeper Virgilio Sotil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martinez Somellero. Virgilio Sotil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Procopio Mayorga in the 70th minute of the match. Procopio Mayorga scored 0-4 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgilio Sotil, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Villa Mitre getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. 孔政帆 hit a great ball. Marcelo Zalayeta scored 0-7 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgilio Sotil, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Alfonso Combi fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PEÑAROL PIPERO's protests and gave Alfonso Combi a yellow card for diving instead. Alfonso Combi kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre's goalkeeper Virgilio Sotil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cruz Rabanera. In the 94th minute, Cruz Rabanera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. PEÑAROL PIPERO played a much better game than Villa Mitre and deserved their victory. The Villa Mitre players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
