After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Ansgar Küpper-Adebisi got a free kick in the 16th minute. If Nestor Bâru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Unidad de Matanza booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ansgar Küpper-Adebisi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nestor Bâru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without August Hoffmanns having to make a save. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Bâru in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anestis Kotsopoulos to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Nestor Bâru notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns. Nestor Bâru did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised August Hoffmanns 62 minutes into the match. Unidad de Matanza's Martin Grøtterud was substituted for Lateef Raal. Unidad de Matanza's Michal Stehno was substituted for Nestor Bâru. Michal Stehno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michal Stehno might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over August Hoffmanns. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michal Stehno ran back to his position shaking his head. Unidad de Matanza were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Rot-Weiss-Essen's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Martin Grøtterud took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Máximo Kirchner got away a dangerous shot. Despite this August Hoffmanns quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Máximo Kirchner sped through Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of August Hoffmanns. In the 72nd minute, Maximilian Henning got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Máximo Kirchner sped through Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of August Hoffmanns. In the 78thth minute of the game Michal Stehno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Felix Balzer got a free kick in the 79th minute. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Grøtterud in the 80th minute of play. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that August Hoffmanns should have stopped the shot. If Máximo Kirchner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximilian Henning charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maximilian Henning the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximilian Henning to maneuver through the defense. Rot-Weiss-Essen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Michal Stehno scored to the left of an out of position August Hoffmanns, making the score, 0-7. Michal Stehno's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but August Hoffmanns firmly grabbed it by the left post. Unidad de Matanza's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
