Fernando Dantae might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Păvăloae. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernando Dantae ran back to his position shaking his head. 15 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Dantae came free, but Daniel Păvăloae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Martín Palermo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mauricio Erramun. Martín Palermo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 21st match minute, Stat Veritas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Anaya to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Dantae in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Păvăloae prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Păvăloae made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Dantae in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Dantae came free, but Daniel Păvăloae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Ireno charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Ireno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Stat Veritas FC booed when Metal Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Ireno didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Stat Veritas FC's Johan Gelin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martín Palermo was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute, Fernando Dantae made a precise shot to the right of Daniel Păvăloae. Metal Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Stat Veritas FC's Ciriaco Tanio was substituted for Fernando Dantae. In the 63rd minute Marco Ireno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Erramun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauricio Erramun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Gaufred, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goalkeeper Daniel Păvăloae had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ciriaco Tanio. Metal Juniors made a substitution. Yani Abalos replaced Marco Ireno. The supporters of Stat Veritas FC booed when Metal Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Dennis didn't get a good kick on the ball.
