Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho dos Santos in the 9th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Australian Youth Academy's Acácio Lara threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Garth Brough, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Fabinho dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute Fabinho dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Garth Brough in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Acácio Lara saved Club Athletico Paulistano from getting behind. In the 44th minute Fabinho dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaap Stam hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Acácio Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garth Brough in the 52nd minute of the match. Australian Youth Academy were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Club Athletico Paulistano's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cesar Cornelius took the corner. 67 minutes into the game, Roy Baba threw the ball into play from the sideline. Club Athletico Paulistano's Eliseu Mendes quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 70th minute of the match Australian Youth Academy got a corner. Club Athletico Paulistano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cesar Cornelius ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Australian Youth Academy's corner Cesar Cornelius fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Acácio Lara quite easily take care of the ball. Acácio Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garth Brough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Eliseu Mendes fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Athletico Paulistano's protests and gave Eliseu Mendes a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Club Athletico Paulistano getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Eliseu Mendes hit a great ball. Rafinha Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keylor Navas having to interfere. Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Australian Youth Academy from getting a goal against them. Acácio Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rufus Roach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliseu Mendes got a throw-in 87 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Glauco da Rocha. In the 90thth minute of the game Fletcher Baba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Athletico Paulistano's Acácio Lara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 90th minute, Hermengildo Mambru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 91st play minutes Fabinho dos Santos shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Keylor Navas and just under the crossbar into goal. Acácio Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fletcher Baba in the 94th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
