The audience was convinced that Betinho Damião's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gjermund Aabel was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. A hard shot 18 in the game by Panos Karkantos from a close distance when the talented Gjermund Aabel managed to make a qualified save. Sagene IF's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernesto Fontes got free with Gjermund Aabel in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edson Futebol Clube were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Sagene IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tao Xing Yong took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Betinho Damião in the 28th minute of play forced Sagene IF's goalkeeper Gjermund Aabel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gjermund Aabel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Betinho Damião's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sagene IF's goalkeeper Gjermund Aabel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 40 minutes, Betinho Damião made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Sagene IF's Gjermund Aabel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ernesto Fontes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Gjermund Aabel made a huge save. In the 46th minute Edson Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Tao Xing Yong went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Tao Xing Yong almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sagene IF's Gjermund Aabel did a great save. Paul Christini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans-Kristian Aanes, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Betinho Damião to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Betinho Damião got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ernesto Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gjermund Aabel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Panos Karkantos's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Gjermund Aabel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betinho Damião in the 84th minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, Sagene IF's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Fontes came free, but Gjermund Aabel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Sagene IF defense, Panos Karkantos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gjermund Aabel. The Sagene IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gjermund Aabel should have stopped the shot. In the 93rdth minute of the game Ivan Óbolo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Edson Futebol Clube's Paul Christini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kjell Ekeli got free with Paul Christini in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edson Futebol Clube were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Sagene IF for a fine match.
