An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Percival in the 5th minute of play forced Golden Hills's goalkeeper Egil Östlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Golden Hills's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Percival came free, but Egil Östlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egil Östlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Percival in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Golden Hills's goal looked a bit too open when Devon Howson came free, but Egil Östlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. William Dunning made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Golden Hills's Orville Hough. In the 17th minute Devon Howson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egil Östlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Egil Östlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Percival, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After taking down the ball on Club Atlético de Newell's corner Pastor Eufemio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Egil Östlund quite easily take care of the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Golden Hills's Ryan Bellamy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dušan Ančic narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Golden Hills's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rupert McCormick in the 22nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Rupert McCormick got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dušan Ančic quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Spike Foley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egil Östlund having to interfere. Egil Östlund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Spike Foley, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Pastor Eufemio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Egil Östlund. Golden Hills's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pastor Eufemio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 38 minutes into the match, Golden Hills's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Percival came free, but Egil Östlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Devon Howson in the 41st minute of play forced Golden Hills's goalkeeper Egil Östlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ward Doran got free with Dušan Ančic in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 46 played minutes Golden Hills got a freekick which was hit by A.J. Cotton. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Devon Howson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético de Newell's supporters rose to their feet, but Devon Howson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egil Östlund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Golden Hills players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Club Atlético de Newell were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Percival stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Egil Östlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Percival in the 52nd minute of the match. Egil Östlund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Percival, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Spike Foley took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Egil Östlund. Egil Östlund dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 81st minute Ward Doran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dušan Ančic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd match minute, Club Atlético de Newell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilton Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Club Atlético de Newell could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Golden Hills throughout the match.
