Severino Casero who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Nils-Erik Askelöf when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Vorwärts Lübeck booed when Southern Thrashers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bleyd Dorrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vorwärts Lübeck's Helge Pihlberg was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 89th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Nils-Erik Askelöf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Helge Pihlberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Vorwärts Lübeck could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Southern Thrashers throughout the match.
