A throw-in in the 9th minute of the game was made by Bonifacio Montez with Carsten Zandberg as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Cássio Rocha hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute of the match Gilberto Goizeder sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but George Buffon skillfully saved the ball. Gilberto Goizeder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Buffon having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Alejandra's Dario Quexal got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 28th minute, Bonifacio Montez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute Angel Cidro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Alejandra getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Bonifacio Montez hit a great ball. With a little luck, Alejandra's Maurinho Terra got control of the ball when Genaro Aragones tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 40 played minutes São José City - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Cássio da Silva. Cássio da Silva hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute Gilberto Goizeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Primo Mazzola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. São José City - FSCMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alejandra the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Primo Mazzola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilberto Goizeder's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Buffon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Federico Girotti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Cidro in the 53rd minute of play forced São José City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper George Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Buffon made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Gilberto Goizeder sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Alejandra getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Dario Quexal hit a great ball. Cássio Rocha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 59th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Maurinho Terra. Alejandra's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, São José City - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Angel Cidro came free, but George Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bonifacio Montez kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Alejandra's Bonifacio Montez got a free kick in the 70th minute. When Federico Girotti came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Alejandra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Federico Girotti couldn't finish the play. 77 minutes into the match, Alejandra's goal looked a bit too open when Genaro Aragones came free, but Maurinho Terra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. George Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Goizeder in the 79th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Waldemar Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The São José City - FSCMZ players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
