The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eric Hjortsberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Fabio Rios made a huge save. When Santiago Oxel fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s protests and gave Santiago Oxel a yellow card for diving instead. 10 minutes into the game, one of ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Fabio Rios went to the wrong direction when Jaime Moreno was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Fabio Rios took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eric Hjortsberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute, Esteve Padro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabio Rios acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 15th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jaime Moreno. 16 minutes into the match, Eric Hjortsberg dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fabio Rios, 1-0. With a little luck, ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Fabio Rios got control of the ball when Zé Carlos Velasco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eric Hjortsberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Fabio Rios made a huge save. Eric Hjortsberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabio Rios. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eric Hjortsberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabio Rios was a little too slow when Emiel Franckx got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-0. Emiel Franckx took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabio Rios. Fabio Rios dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Fabio Rios made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eric Hjortsberg in the 42nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as IGUIPORÃ FC's Emiel Franckx slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabio Rios. That made the score 4-0 after 44 minutes of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geronimo Gines made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Zé Carlos Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Rios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰ getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Victorino Perfecto hit a great ball. Zé Carlos Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Fabio Rios tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabio Rios came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by IGUIPORÃ FC's Carlos Fernando Silva. But to his dismay, Carlos Fernando Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Fabio Rios played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Sergipano in the 61st minute of play. Fabio Rios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiel Franckx in the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Gonzalo Abancens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the game, IGUIPORÃ FC's Gustavo Sergipano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Rios made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. 73 minutes into the match, João Adolfo Goiano notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Fabio Rios. Fabio Rios was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wilfredo Abaurre struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Carlos Carioca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰. IGUIPORÃ FC's Luiz Paulo Chaves was substituted for Eric Hjortsberg. In the 85th minute, João Adolfo Goiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The IGUIPORÃ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. 89 minutes into the match, Zé Carlos Velasco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabio Rios. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Carlos Velasco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. Fabio Rios stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Paulo Chaves's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. If Luiz Paulo Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, João Adolfo Goiano made a precise shot to the right of Fabio Rios. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 10-0. When the referee ended the match the IGUIPORÃ FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
