A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Emilio Rico hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Yusuf Ziya Ruhittin came free, but Alaaddin Uchiha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pontus Ligers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alaaddin Uchiha having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, FC BARCELONA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tassos Kalakos to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yusuf Ziya Ruhittin was the one to do the kick off. Alaaddin Uchiha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Bitze in the 53rd minute of play. River Plate's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eloy Elizardo in the 95th minute.
