The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oscar Ekhi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Quebrachitos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Filomeno Marko came free, but Oscar Ekhi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Aníbal Barca took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Mário Súľovský to make any attempt to save it. Mário Súľovský was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Aníbal Barca capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Aníbal Barca really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 30th minute of the match, Anacleto Sendoa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mário Súľovský was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Oscar Ekhi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florentino Rodas in the 33rd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Aníbal Barca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mário Súľovský was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Estudiantes de La Plata's Marcos Bilintx got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aníbal Barca in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mário Súľovský saved Estudiantes de La Plata from getting behind. 44 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de La Plata's goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Barca came free, but Mário Súľovský reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47thth minute of the game Aníbal Barca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes de La Plata's Mário Súľovský was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

Estudiantes de La Plata made a substitution. Rogelio Sotil replaced Marcos Bilintx. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tadeu Pombal hit a great ball. Quebrachitos FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
