Santos Cayo scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristoforo Morini, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Mercurio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fortunato Zola in the 11th minute of the match. Cristoforo Morini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elpidio Ekain's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Pedro Mercurio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Lluques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ñacuñán AC's Pedro Mercurio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Ñacuñán AC from getting a goal against them. 21 minutes into the match, Ñacuñán AC's Elpidio Ekain sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cristoforo Morini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rosenborg's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. With a little luck, Ñacuñán AC's Pedro Mercurio got control of the ball when Cosimo Mandelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 41 minutes of play, Ñacuñán AC's Cosme Lauaxeta made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristoforo Morini was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Rosenborg players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ñacuñán AC were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cosme Lauaxeta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Rosenborg defense, Cosme Lauaxeta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristoforo Morini. The Rosenborg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristoforo Morini should have stopped the shot. 58 minutes into the match, Luciano Lluques notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Ñacuñán AC's Pedro Mercurio. Pedro Mercurio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ñacuñán AC made a substitution. Delmiro Oinaz replaced Jose Hernando. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristobal Ralondo couldn't finish the play. After 89 minutes, Luis Bartoleme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ñacuñán AC and the Rosenborg players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Luis Bartoleme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Ñacuñán AC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Delmiro Oinaz hit a great ball. Ñacuñán AC's Pedro Mercurio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viggo Hellgren in the 96th minute of play. Ñacuñán AC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
