Piquirenda FC were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Sociedad Anónima's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roberto Iratze took the corner. Gianluigi Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Bernal, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Eugenio Bernal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Bernal in the 30th minute of play forced Sociedad Anónima's goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Piquirenda FC's Eugenio Bernal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gianluigi Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Velasco Rollan made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Velasco Rollan in the 56th minute of play forced Piquirenda FC's goalkeeper Didi Papardelas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Eugenio Bernal managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 60thth minute of the game Velasco Rollan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Piquirenda FC's Didi Papardelas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eugenio Bernal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gianluigi Buffon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Olgierd Bator fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gianluigi Buffon having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pero Barrutia in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Didi Papardelas saved Piquirenda FC from getting behind. Piquirenda FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roberto Iratze in the 76th minute. Didi Papardelas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pero Barrutia, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. A collision led to Piquirenda FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Severiano Ibañez hit a great ball. Sociedad Anónima made a substitution. Marino Malet replaced Pero Barrutia. In the 94th minute, Severiano Ibañez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
