Sandrinho Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Marchidan might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fábio Pinheiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Marchidan ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Gremio NG's Ciro Oliveira got a free kick in the 6th minute. Severino Jatsu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Fábio Pinheiro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cláudio Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júnior Quintana's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. The attack was good, but when Emanuel Obafuso in the 12th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After a rather tough play, Gremio NG's Ciro Oliveira got a free kick in the 20th minute. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Manuel Marchidan put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Fábio Pinheiro. After some careless play in the Gremio NG defense, Manuel Marchidan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fábio Pinheiro. The Gremio NG fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fábio Pinheiro should have stopped the shot. Cláudio Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júnior Quintana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fábio Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Marchidan, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Racing Club【LBF】 were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Gremio NG's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Severino Jatsu took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Alejo Galoer managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Emanuel Obafuso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emanuel Obafuso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Fábio Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Marchidan in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fábio Pinheiro saved Gremio NG from getting behind. 44 minutes into the game, Severino Jatsu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Fábio Pinheiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

Júnior Quintana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Cláudio Taffarel made a huge save. In the 57thth minute of the game Manuel Marchidan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gremio NG's Fábio Pinheiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Racing Club【LBF】's Cláudio Taffarel got control of the ball when Júnior Quintana tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 69 played minutes Gremio NG got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Travassos. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Severino Jatsu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club【LBF】's supporters rose to their feet, but Severino Jatsu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fábio Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Marchidan in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fábio Pinheiro saved Gremio NG from getting behind. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gremio NG's goalkeeper Fábio Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fábio Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Marchidan in the 83rd minute of the match. Dino do Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Cláudio Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Manuel Marchidan came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Racing Club【LBF】 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Marchidan couldn't finish the play. Sandrinho Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Racing Club【LBF】 walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
