Serginho Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Lizzio in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of Cable a Tierra booed when MINEIROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. Apolo Quilo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Toninho Goiano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. Serginho Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo Lizzio in the 8th minute of the match. Apolo Quilo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho Goiano in the 14th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match, Hugo Albuquerque got a very nice opportunity to score, but Apolo Quilo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusebio Gorosti in the 32nd minute of play forced MINEIROS's goalkeeper Serginho Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MINEIROS's Serginho Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eleuterio Ekain in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute Eleuterio Ekain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Albuquerque came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Apolo Quilo could save by the left post. After 45 minutes, Hugo Oier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cable a Tierra and the MINEIROS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cable a Tierra's Hugo Oier got a free kick in the 45th minute.
If Joel Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pablo Lizzio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th match minute, Cable a Tierra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquilino Guerrero to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the game, Aquilino Guerrero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Apolo Quilo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Albuquerque, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Serginho Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltasar Gaitan in the 72nd minute of the match. Apolo Quilo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Guerreiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute, Nilson de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wenceslao Taffarel kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Eusebio Gorosti's late challenge caught a MINEIROS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusebio Gorosti helped the player get up and apologised. Eusebio Gorosti hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the game, MINEIROS's Hugo Albuquerque nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Apolo Quilo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. With a little luck, MINEIROS's Serginho Taffarel got control of the ball when Eusebio Gorosti tried to sneak it across the goal line. Serginho Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Eleuterio Ekain sent off a good shot on target. When Nico de Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MINEIROS's protests and gave Nico de Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cable a Tierra booed when MINEIROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 played minutes MINEIROS got a freekick which was hit by João Paraíba.
All the players looked a little tired when it was time for the first half of the overtime. It was Cable a Tierra's Eusebio Gorosti that got to make the kick off. In the 100th match minute, MINEIROS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wenceslao Taffarel to maneuver through the defense. 109 minutes into the match, Baltasar Gaitan notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of MINEIROS's Serginho Taffarel. Serginho Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cable a Tierra's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
