In the 3rd minute of the game Santos Oskitz made a throw-in which Paolo Caradaro played forward. Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Atlanta from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Armada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliodor Coposu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armada's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ma Feng Sen in the 12th minute. A nice corner shot did that Ma Feng Sen got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carlos Germano quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Santos Oskitz hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Róbert Benkó could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Carlos Germano however easily saved by the left post. Armada's Färid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustaquio Jaizki in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Santos Oskitz hit a great ball. Armada's Róbert Benkó got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 29 minutes into the game, Róbert Benkó was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Armada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético Atlanta the free kick. In the 33rd minute of the match, Róbert Benkó got a very nice opportunity to score, but Carlos Germano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Carlos Germano made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Róbert Benkó sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute of the game Santos Oskitz made a throw-in which Paolo Caradaro played forward. Armada's Róbert Benkó got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Róbert Benkó scored 1-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Germano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Róbert Benkó in the 58th minute of play. Carlos Germano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Róbert Benkó went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Carlos Germano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbert Benkó in the 65th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Armada's Róbert Benkó got a free kick in the 66th minute. Rivaldo Esquerdo charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rivaldo Esquerdo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rivaldo Esquerdo kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Róbert Benkó blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Germano having to make a save. Carlos Germano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Róbert Benkó in the 73rd minute of play. Róbert Benkó might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Germano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Róbert Benkó ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 77th minute Róbert Benkó shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Germano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Germano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Róbert Benkó's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Róbert Benkó received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Carlos Germano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Róbert Benkó managed to get in a good position for a shot. Armada's supporters rose to their feet, but Róbert Benkó was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Germano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Germano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbert Benkó, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armada's Róbert Benkó got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Atlanta defense, Róbert Benkó kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Germano. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Germano should have stopped the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Armada had played much better football throughout.
