A well-hit corner resulted in Laureano Guipuzkoa heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guillaume Chaine in the 14th minute of play forced Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's goalkeeper Fabian Arendarski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes, Nelson Nogueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Valette Stars and the Zagłębie Dąbrowskie players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Valette Stars getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Nelson Nogueira hit a great ball. Adrien Tanneau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Scislowicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Saul Eriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Arendarski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's Edgar Scislowicz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adrien Tanneau. That made the score 3-0 after 46 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
