After 2 played minutes General Velásquez got a freekick which was hit by Hanamichi Sakuragi. 4 minutes into the match, General Velásquez's goalkeeper Gustavo Chacaltana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorge Lameirinhas. A collision led to GD Almargense getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Gualter Flores hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Noronha in the 8th minute of play forced General Velásquez's goalkeeper Gustavo Chacaltana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raul Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilario Opazo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raul Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Opazo in the 12th minute of play. Ricardo Pepi struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Gustavo Chacaltana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GD Almargense. Gustavo Chacaltana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Pepi in the 18th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Noronha got free with Gustavo Chacaltana in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hanamichi Sakuragi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26th minute, Luís Noronha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th match minute, GD Almargense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Soeiro to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, General Velásquez's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Pepi came free, but Gustavo Chacaltana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Pepi hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Luís Casado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Gustavo Chacaltana made a huge save. After 38th play minutes Ricardo Pepi shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Gustavo Chacaltana and just under the crossbar into goal. Gustavo Chacaltana was a little too slow when Ricardo Pepi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 47th minute there was a penalty for General Velásquez. Máximo Acosta stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Raul Viana. 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Ricardo Pepi put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gustavo Chacaltana. Gustavo Chacaltana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Pepi in the 56th minute of the match. General Velásquez's Filipo Colimán got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gustavo Chacaltana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Noronha's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd match minute, GD Almargense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Lameirinhas to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to General Velásquez getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Hanamichi Sakuragi hit a great ball. Gustavo Chacaltana didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when GD Almargense's Luís Noronha shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 4-1 in the ordered_time% minute. When Leandro Soeiro fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GD Almargense's protests and gave Leandro Soeiro a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, GD Almargense's Leandro Soeiro got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 78th minute, Leopoldo Mofre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo Chacaltana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Pepi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, General Velásquez's Hanamichi Sakuragi got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 84th minute Ricardo Pepi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Chacaltana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th match minute, GD Almargense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Campos to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The GD Almargense fans cheered their team off the field, for while General Velásquez had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
