Luiz Fernando Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dick Cornetti, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Baiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gibson Dürst. When Cesinha Paraense fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Compostela FSCMZ's protests and gave Cesinha Paraense a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Compostela FSCMZ getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Cesinha Paraense hit a great ball. Luiz Fernando Baiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henrik Mäder in the 27th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Baiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harold Baum. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henrik Mäder to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, FC Stadtclub's goalkeeper Jacky Silvestri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Roberto Galvão. The crowd rose to their feet as Compostela FSCMZ's Pedro Tasso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jacky Silvestri. That made the score 0-2 after 57 minutes of play. The supporters of FC Stadtclub booed when Compostela FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lamberto Perktold's late challenge caught a Compostela FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lamberto Perktold helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th match minute, FC Stadtclub was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lamberto Perktold to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Compostela FSCMZ eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
