In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bernardinho Abreu's late challenge caught a S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardinho Abreu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to S.C.CHUÍ getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Bernardinho Abreu hit a great ball. Armando Cerezo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Krisztián Véber's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joris Scheer got free with Esen Sanal in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joris Scheer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Esen Sanal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Derwin Valensuela came free, but Esen Sanal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esen Sanal made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Joris Scheer sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute Joris Scheer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esen Sanal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Krisztián Véber stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. S.C.CHUÍ's Armando Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krisztián Véber in the 50th minute of play. When S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Krisztián Véber in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Lei Feng Yan got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. S.C.CHUÍ's Armando Cerezo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save S.C.CHUÍ from getting a goal against them. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Lei Feng Yan got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. S.C.CHUÍ's Elder Donatello was substituted for Luis León. After a defensive mix-up in S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's zone, Bernardinho Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esen Sanal came out of the goal and Bernardinho Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Krisztián Véber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Cerezo having to interfere. Lei Feng Yan took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Armando Cerezo. Armando Cerezo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 88th minute Bernardinho Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esen Sanal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Krisztián Véber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Armando Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. S.C.CHUÍ's Armando Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lei Feng Yan in the 94th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
