Cezary Sitko had in the 16thth minute some difficulties stopping Zbigniew Boniek's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 16th minute, Zbigniew Boniek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cezary Sitko was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juliusz Dzierwa made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Chelmza Team's Gwidon Zawacki nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cezary Sitko made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Waldemar Pawlik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juliusz Dzierwa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldemar Pawlik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wieslaw Zawacki in the 60th minute of the match. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind MKS Mazur Ełk's goalkeeper Cezary Sitko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee gave Gwidon Zawacki a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of MKS Mazur Ełk booed when Chelmza Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gwidon Zawacki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chelmza Team's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
