Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Holger Knoche to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Kaspar Bretzel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Ortiz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Jataiense Futebol Clube's Nicolás Castillo got a free kick in the 56th minute. But to his dismay, Nicolás Castillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolás Castillo in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niklas Sauter saved SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. from getting behind. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ahan Capaul was slow to take the kick. During this time Jataiense Futebol Clube's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Kaká MacAlister heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely.
