The audience was convinced that Håkan Lindgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils Tunander was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. After 18 played minutes Vilbergen Boys Club got a freekick which was hit by Egil Byström. 20 minutes into the match, Vilbergen Boys Club's goal looked a bit too open when Patrik Skarkman came free, but Nils Tunander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Marcin Adamko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute Håkan Lindgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils Tunander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Håkan Lindgren scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nils Tunander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 29 minutes into the match, Brothers of Mercy's Håkan Lindgren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nils Tunander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 33 minutes of play, Brothers of Mercy's Håkan Lindgren made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nils Tunander was left in no man's land by his defense there! Per-Oskar Hjortsberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Nils Tunander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conny Josefsson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Markus Nyman came out and tried to block the shot, but Conny Josefsson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 38th minute. Håkan Lindgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nils Tunander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Nils Tunander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Håkan Lindgren in the 43rd minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Håkan Lindgren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conny Josefsson in the 64th minute of play forced Brothers of Mercy's goalkeeper Markus Nyman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vilbergen Boys Club's goalkeeper Nils Tunander, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 66 minutes into the game, Håkan Lindgren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Nils Tunander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rd minute, Brothers of Mercy's Håkan Lindgren ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nils Tunander. Nils Tunander yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. When Brothers of Mercy's Håkan Lindgren in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vilbergen Boys Club's goalie prevented a goal. 83 minutes into the match, Håkan Lindgren dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nils Tunander, 2-5. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vilbergen Boys Club's goalkeeper Nils Tunander, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 2-6 when Håkan Lindgren sped through Vilbergen Boys Club's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nils Tunander. Nils Tunander came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Brothers of Mercy's Håkan Lindgren. But to his dismay, Håkan Lindgren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-7.
The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Brothers of Mercy eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
