Andreas Lindqvist was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sten Melberg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Eden in the 18th minute of play forced Di Röe's goalkeeper George Kristiansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute, Tage Glanselius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. George Kristiansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Eden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. George Kristiansson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bengt-Arne Haglund went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When Bengt-Arne Haglund came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Vykans Vikingar fans jumped to their feet.
