A collision led to Batalionul U23 Dorobanti getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Rikki Doro hit a great ball. Flavio Peter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Tudor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of U21 Romania booed when Batalionul U23 Dorobanti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mugur Bejan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute, Robert Tudor made a precise shot to the right of Flavio Peter. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Marioara Matei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xerxes Doro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert Tudor in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Peter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dan Braru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute Robert Tudor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Peter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Korneliusz Barna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marioara Matei having to interfere. Flavio Peter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Tudor in the 38th minute of the match. Irinel Balotă lost his temper 43 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 42nd minute, one of U21 Romania:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 Romania. When the match had been going on for 44 minutes, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Korneliusz Barna got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Marioara Matei. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robert Tudor was the one to do the kick off. Robert Tudor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Peter having to interfere. Marioara Matei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Korneliusz Barna, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Robert Tudor's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Flavio Peter skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Robert Tudor had several of the Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 65 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Flavio Peter as he didn't even see the shot coming. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti made a substitution. Karl-Michael Brask replaced Rikki Doro. Flavio Peter made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Robert Tudor sent off a good shot on target. Marioara Matei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xerxes Doro in the 74th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Karl-Michael Brask left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Batalionul U23 Dorobanti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 80th minute, Korneliusz Barna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marioara Matei was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Petre Petrean kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's goalkeeper Flavio Peter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robert Tudor. After a rather tough play, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Karl-Michael Brask got a free kick in the 85th minute. With his leg Flavio Peter managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when U21 Romania's Robert Tudor fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Mugur Bejan kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's goalkeeper Flavio Peter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robert Tudor. With an all-out effort, U21 Romania's Flavio Peter threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Petre Petrean, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Batalionul U23 Dorobanti fans cheered their team off the field, for while U21 Romania had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
