After a rather tough play, Sporting Buceo's Lobo Feliu got a free kick in the 8th minute. Sporting Buceo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 14th minute, when Toninho Goiano scored to the left of an out of position Lucas Cepa, making the score, 2-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 21 minutes into the game, when Vágner Gaspar put in a rough tackle. Vágner Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After having played for 22 minutes, Nardo Tuo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Buceo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nardo Tuo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serginho Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piearres Somiedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Joel Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lobo Feliu in the 30th minute of play forced MINEIROS's goalkeeper Serginho Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of MINEIROS booed when Sporting Buceo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nardo Tuo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sporting Buceo's Vachon Camaño pulled a muscle in his back after 40 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to MINEIROS getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Toninho Goiano hit a great ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Toninho Goiano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MINEIROS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toninho Goiano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laureano Donallo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Serginho Taffarel didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 52nd minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Laureano Donallo kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. If Hugo Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Piearres Somiedo's late challenge caught a MINEIROS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Piearres Somiedo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th match minute, Sporting Buceo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Piearres Somiedo to maneuver through the defense. Laureano Donallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Buceo's zone, Nico de Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Cepa came out of the goal and Nico de Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Serginho Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nardo Tuo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Lobo Feliu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Sporting Buceo defense, Nico de Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucas Cepa. The Sporting Buceo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucas Cepa should have stopped the shot. In the 81st match minute, Sporting Buceo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartoleme Ceja to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Nico de Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MINEIROS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. 87 minutes into the match, Hugo Albuquerque notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Sporting Buceo's Lucas Cepa. Lucas Cepa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nico de Mendonça scored 6-1 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lucas Cepa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Nilson de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to MINEIROS getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Benê Amorim hit a great ball.

Sporting Buceo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
