After 6 played minutes Samurai Champions FC got a freekick which was hit by Faustão Ramalho. Bruno Fonso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Márcio de Brito having to make a save. Márcio de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Fonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. With his leg Márcio de Brito managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Club Ibiza's Edgardo Cosca fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Club Ibiza's Rene Higuita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Santos in the 15th minute of play. Márcio de Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xie Bin Wei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faustão Ramalho made in the 24th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luís Eduardo Batista however managed to control. Márcio de Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xie Bin Wei in the 28th minute of play. Rene Higuita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Peter Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samurai Champions FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rene Higuita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rene Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Samurai Champions FC's Márcio de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Fonso in the 52nd minute of play. A collision led to Samurai Champions FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Șerban Bărbânță hit a great ball. If Beliran Poblaciones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Faustino Asprilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 93rd minute, Faustino Asprilla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Ibiza fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Faustino Asprilla might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Márcio de Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Faustino Asprilla ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 96th minute Faustino Asprilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márcio de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Ibiza fans cheered their team off the field, for while Samurai Champions FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
