In the 11th match minute, Forest was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Xavier to maneuver through the defense. Dursun Ali Mehmet was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 14th minute, Atlético Letal's Pong Kula ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jeferson Toledo. Jeferson Toledo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Pong Kula could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Jeferson Toledo made a huge save. Atlético Letal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dursun Ali Mehmet in the 19th minute. The corner led to Atlético Letal's Alfredinho Sena getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Abelardo Zubizarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tarcisio Neves in the 27th minute of the match. Abelardo Zubizarreta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Kellogg, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Letal's goalkeeper Abelardo Zubizarreta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 36th minute Forest were awarded a corner. Giuseppe Xavier went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Forest's corner Giuseppe Xavier fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Abelardo Zubizarreta quite easily take care of the ball. Abelardo Zubizarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lorenzo Kellogg in the 38th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Forest were awarded a corner. Giuseppe Xavier went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Forest's Giuseppe Xavier to fire away a dangerous shot which Abelardo Zubizarreta despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 45 played minutes Atlético Letal got a freekick which was hit by Pong Kula. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Atlético Letal's Tomás Goren was substituted for Pong Kula. Atlético Letal made a substitution. Pedro Silveira replaced Dráusio de Queirós. Atlético Letal's Abelardo Zubizarreta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Kellogg in the 61st minute of play. With an all-out effort, Forest's Abelardo Zubizarreta threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lorenzo Kellogg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Forest's Willian Secco was substituted for Jonathan Moreno. Gino Terra made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Tomás Goren. If Lorenzo Kellogg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lorenzo Kellogg got free with Abelardo Zubizarreta in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both players had fought hard during the second half to keep the score at 1-1. The tie meant more entertainment for the crowd as the match moved into extra-time.

With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Lorenzo Kellogg in Forest was the one to initiate the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 106th minute, Lorenzo Kellogg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Forest's supporters rose to their feet, but Lorenzo Kellogg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abelardo Zubizarreta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 111 minutes into the game, Lorenzo Kellogg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Abelardo Zubizarreta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Atlético Letal fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Forest were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
