Geovanildo Luis started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Joinville City - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Tomás Reis hit a great ball. Mané Lara received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Haji Sarap came out and tried to block the shot, but Mané Lara slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Haji Sarap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mané Lara, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute, Karsten Ulbak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th match minute, Joinville United - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guilherme Joinvilense to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Haji Sarap successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Geovanildo Luis scored 1-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Borys Gruchacz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mané Lara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Haji Sarap having to make a save. Haji Sarap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Borys Gruchacz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanildo Luis in the 20th minute of play. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Borys Gruchacz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Geovanildo Luis scored 1-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Borys Gruchacz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Joinville City - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Karsten Ulbak hit a great ball. After 47 played minutes Joinville United - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Donatello.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mané Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Joinville United - FSCMZ's Mané Lara in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalie prevented a goal. Haji Sarap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Borys Gruchacz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanildo Luis in the 66th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovanildo Luis in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Borys Gruchacz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 81 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Borys Gruchacz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geovanildo Luis. Haji Sarap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute Geovanildo Luis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Gruchacz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The Joinville City - FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Joinville City - FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
