Omar Volio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremiah McPhil in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute Donleavy Barrett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Volio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Donleavy Barrett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Omar Volio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Omar Volio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donleavy Barrett, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Omar Volio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donleavy Barrett in the 29th minute of play. U21 Ireland's Babayaro Brzęczyszczykiewicz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save U21 Ireland from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, U21 Ireland's Babayaro Brzęczyszczykiewicz got control of the ball when Mainor Calderon tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th minute Donleavy Barrett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Volio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The wind increased when Donleavy Barrett made the kick off in the second half. U21 Costa Rica's Elbert Gudov was substituted for Kerry Flöter. Omar Volio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremiah McPhil in the 61st minute of play. Omar Volio was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Donleavy Barrett capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Donleavy Barrett really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. 66 minutes into the match, U21 Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremiah McPhil came free, but Omar Volio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ramon Mena hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute, Donleavy Barrett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Omar Volio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. U21 Costa Rica's Omar Volio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Omar Volio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeremiah McPhil's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Jeremiah McPhil took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Omar Volio to make any attempt to save it. In the 91st minute, Gavin Murphy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mićo Grande was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 92nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Elbert Gudov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Babayaro Brzęczyszczykiewicz. U21 Ireland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elbert Gudov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. When the match was over U21 Ireland could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than U21 Costa Rica throughout the match.
