In the 17th minute Joško Poklepović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Campens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nebojša Jerić took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mbaka Mbolu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Campens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joško Poklepović, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Kamiel Stessel could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Nebojša Jerić however easily saved by the left post. Mbaka Mbolu scored 2-0 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nebojša Jerić, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nebojša Jerić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mbaka Mbolu in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mbaka Mbolu in the 45th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Nebojša Jerić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luka Mata was the one to do the kick off. Manuel Campens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marko Livaja, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luka Mata got free with Manuel Campens in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mbaka Mbolu kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Mbaka Mbolu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nebojša Jerić read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Luka Mata could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Manuel Campens made a huge save. 75 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Luka Mata came free, but Manuel Campens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Joško Poklepović recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Manuel Campens. Joško Poklepović showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. In the 83rdth minute of the game Mbaka Mbolu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Croatia's Nebojša Jerić was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marko Livaja in the 84th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Manuel Campens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Miran Tudor came free, but Manuel Campens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 3-2 became the score in the 92nd minute when Luka Mata elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Belgium were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Croatia for a fine match.
