After 12 played minutes INFIERNO KSK got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Cresitobalo. If Vitório Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allan Varela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauro Cresitobalo in the 14th minute. With a little luck, Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela got control of the ball when Mauro Cresitobalo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Palestra do Interior from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when INFIERNO KSK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Vanderhaege didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Vitório Lago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Allan Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Morley in the 38th minute of play. After 43 played minutes INFIERNO KSK got a freekick which was hit by Fred Vanderhaege. 45 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Dirk Toeback came free, but Allan Varela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dirk Toeback to make the kick off. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. Reynaldo Sena hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute, Celsinho Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Allan Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dali Valdez in the 93rd minute of play.
