The corner led República de la Boca's Alberto-Federico Acosta to a score. 0-3 in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, República de la Boca's Sergio Herena got a free kick in the 21st minute. The supporters of República de la Boca booed when Deportivo Balvanera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sait Baray didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omar Lauren came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by República de la Boca's Alberto-Federico Acosta. But to his dismay, Alberto-Federico Acosta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 30 minutes into the match, Alberto-Federico Acosta notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Deportivo Balvanera's Omar Lauren. Omar Lauren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 33 minutes into the game, República de la Boca's Alberto-Federico Acosta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Omar Lauren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. After some careless play in the Deportivo Balvanera defense, Alberto-Federico Acosta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Omar Lauren. The Deportivo Balvanera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Omar Lauren should have stopped the shot. Omar Lauren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tincho Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 47 minutes into the game, República de la Boca's Flavio Bonfigli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Omar Lauren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. The Deportivo Balvanera players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. República de la Boca were winning 0-8.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tincho Palermo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Isaias Erroman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Gustavo Gabriel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Andreas Björkdahl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Lauren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, República de la Boca's Omar Lauren threw himself towards the right post 64 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tincho Palermo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Omar Lauren came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by República de la Boca's Tincho Palermo. But to his dismay, Tincho Palermo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. If Eusebio Ecija had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Omar Lauren successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto-Federico Acosta in the 81st minute of play forced Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Omar Lauren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Omar Lauren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andreas Björkdahl in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tincho Palermo in the 86th minute of play forced Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Omar Lauren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Deportivo Balvanera fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 95 minutes, República de la Boca's Severino Di Giovanni got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Omar Lauren. Alberto-Federico Acosta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 99th minute of the match, but Omar Lauren made a huge save.
