Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Potente in the 17th minute of play. Miguel Nicolau made in the 20th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Racing Club's Efmamjjasond Bronco. In the 23rd minute Luciano Pirro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Sánchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Racing Club's zone, Martin Palermo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelio Cordearo came out of the goal and Martin Palermo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute Osvaldo Potente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Cordearo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruben Sánchez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Pirro's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After 39 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro Lano. Ramiro Lano kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When Racing Club's Luciano Pirro in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Racing Club's Cornelio Cordearo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Magic is Back had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
