In the 4th minute, one of Catarinense F.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Catarinense F.C.. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Errecaborda AFC. Emílio Terra stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mauricio Luke. 0-1. Mauricio Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Terra in the 15th minute of play. If Amarante Sierra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Catarinense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Terra came free, but Mauricio Luke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
